Paypal Update: Resumes Electronic Withdrawal Service to India

Now this comes as a surprise – Just 2 days after Paypal had announced that they will be stopping Electronic Funds Withdrawal to Indian Banks – They seem to have made a complete U turn. The announcement on their blog today says that Indian Paypal users can perform electronic withdrawals as they did before.

Indian students now prefer UK over America for Overseas Studies!

The UK has now upstaged America as the most preferred campus destination for Indians. Blame it on the declining job opportunities in the US which is battling the worst downturn in decades or it could as well be that America is still more expensive to study in than Europe.

HCL Tech To Change Its Bpo Sector

With business process outsourcing (BPO) segment witnessing de-growth for the past two years, HCL Technologies has decided to transform it into business plus service platform and call it Business Services. This was disclosed by Vineet Nayar, Chief Executive Officer, in an interview with this correspondent over telephone on Thursday. Under this, the company would offer integrated platform along with people as a business package and charge the clients on a per transaction basis.

Western & Southern India better on Well Being & Female Security Index !

Southern India stands out when it comes to general well-being of citizens, so does Western India as compared to other parts of the Country. In eastern parts of India people lack well being, while in North India scores very low when it comes to Female Security. These are some of the findings of report released by management consultancy firm TSMG ( Tata Strategic Management Group ) on the Well Being Index (WBI) and Female Security Index (FSI)

Revised Direct Tax Code – What you should know !

The much-awaited revised discussion paper on the Direct Tax Code (DTC) is set in the public domain by the Manmohan Singh government. The earlier discussion paper on the Direct Tax Code Bill was released in August 2009 to receive public feedback and inputs on the proposals. The revised paper is said to have addressed some of these issues after attracting sharp criticisms from several quarters on various grounds.

How often I have received SMS’es on my cell phone that starts with ‘Height of Stupidity’ or ‘Height of PJ’ (Pakau/Poor Jokes) and than starts the actual humorous portion of the text message. On a lighter side, while writing this post it struck me that this post is something related to the ‘Height of Laziness’ :) Yes, technology is indeed moving at a faster pace. Speaking about the mobile phone handsets, we have seen it all from tiresome numeric keypads to less cumbersome QWERTY keypads and now even touch screen mobiles doing away with physical keypads.
